This is one Zebra that certainly stands out from the crowd! This colourful rainbow Card Topper couldn’t be easier to put together. Here’s how its done…
I started off by making up a few Winifred’s for my stash. I has a piece of alcohol ink coloured cardstock from a previous project that I didn’t use, so I decided to cut her mane from that rainbow piece and fell in love with this colourful version! Sizzix has a video for each of the Colorize die sets, that make assembling SUPER easy, so be sure to check out the link below. TIP: I always add adhesive sheets or run my cardstock through my Xyron before I die cut any pieces for the Colorize dies. This makes assembling them much easier and far less messy than using glue
I started by stamping a brushstrokes circle onto a piece of hot pressed watercolour paper using my Black Soot Oxide Ink Pad and embossed that with black embossing powder to give it a gloss finish. I always use my stamping press when stamping an image like this, as I want to ensure a good ink coverage. And using my press, allows me to stamp the image a few times.
Then it was time for some colour! I inked around the embossed image using the following Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin. Awesome, bright colours! I used the blending tool to blend the colours together, into one another
I really didn’t want to chance touching the card and disturbing the ink, so I chose to give it a quick coat of Gloss Spray Varnish to seal the colours and allowed that to air dry which didn’t take long
Then I grabbed a favourite Wendy Vecchi text stamp set and stamped around the card randomly using my stamping press and jet black archival ink pad
I trimmed the card down to size
And inked the edges using a blending tool and Black Soot Distress Ink
And matted onto some black cardstock for great contrast
I used the off cut strips to stamp some words using Jet Black Archival Ink https://hillcrestartsupplies.co.za/…/7838-couture… https://hillcrestartsupplies.co.za/…/4346-jet-black…
And inked the edges using a blending tool and Black Soot Distress Ink
I used my mini Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion (can’t live without this tool!), to line up the sentiments and glue them into place https://hillcrestartsupplies.co.za/…/6036-wendy-vecchi…
I used double sided foam tape to adhere Winifred into place
That’s it! Couldn’t be easier right?! A happy, colourful card topper to add to your stash!
