- Colorize: Sparkly Christmas with Gertrude

Once again, this Winter Wardrobe die set comes in handy!
I like to prepare a few elements at a time, that way I have them ready for when I need them

I also like to make up a few Gertrude’s at a time. I just find it easier as I am already in the swing of it.
Another tip is to always add adhesive tape to the back of your cardstock before you cut your elements. That way you simply peel the tape and stick the pieces together and don’t have to use a liquid adhesive which can be messy

I decided to add a Christmas Scarf to Gertrude to dress her up for the Season

I sprayed a piece of hot pressed watercolour paper with Distress Spray Stains, Evergreen Bough and Speckled Egg for the background. I also added a little water to get the inks to react and move. I then dried this with my heat tool

I already had some ‘greenery’ cut from white watercolour paper which I sprayed with Evergreen Bough and Speckled Egg and dried with a heat tool

Once your background cardstock is completely dry (and it does need to be 100% dry), apply some paste through your Sparkle stencil and cover with Holographic Embossing Powder and heat set

Look at that sparkle!

Next I stamped a sentiment onto a piece of white hot pressed watercolour paper using Jet Black Archival Ink and my Stamp Press to ensure I had a good clear image

I wanted the sentiment strip to sparkle too, so I inked over the entire strip with clear embossing dabber and covered in Holographic Embossing Powder and heat set it

I matted the background to a piece of glittery cardstock

And adhered the inked greenery using my Collage Medium Matte down the left hand side of the card

I curled the sentiment strip and adhered that to the front of the card, using my Mini Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion to position it

I wanted Gertrude to be slightly raised off the surface of the card, so I used double sided foam tape

And that’s it! Gertrude in all her sparkly glory!
