Colorize: Hanging out with Arthur

I certainly don’t think I am alone when I say that I am a massive Colorize fan!
These new releases from Tim / Sizzix are super easy to assemble too. I made up a few quick and easy card toppers from the completed colorize images.
This is Arthur – and I love hanging out with this little chap!

Sizzix have created a video for each Colorize set – so it makes it SUPER simple to assemble!
I like to start off by adhering Sizzix sticky adhesive to the backs of all my cardstock before I die cut the pieces. Then you just need to remove the adhesive and stick the pieces together. I think it’s far less messy than working with glue.
I really loved the way this ‘brown’ version of Arthur turned out
I love Arthur SO much, I had to try him in a few different colours – and he looks great in all of them!
I ran a piece of Kraft cardstock through a 3D Lumbar embossing folder for an authentic wood backdrop
I used a blending tool and Walnut Stain distress ink to add colour to the 3D embossed background. I also used the ink pad directly to the surface, to pick up on the raised areas
Then I trimmed me piece down to size and inked the edges with more Walnut Stain. I also then matted the embossed cardstock onto a piece of dark brown cardstock
I stamped some sentiments from a Penny Black stamp set onto a light coloured beige cardstock using my new Couture Creations Stamp Press (which I am loving!). And inked the edges of the sentiments with Walnut Stain
I matted the one sentiment onto some dark brown cardstock
And used my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion to line up Arthur and adhere him to the card topper using a double sided foam tape
I used my Distress Collage Medium to attach the stamped sentiment to the top left hand corner of the card
And double sided foam tape to adhere the remaining sentiment to Arthurs Chest
A SUPER quick and easy background, but the perfect backdrop for Mr Arthur. I hope you enjoy playing with your Colorize dies as much as I have!
