I’ve had a fab time with these funny fellas! One stamp set… so many playful options. Here’s how I created these quick and easy ‘go to’ tags and cards…
Set 1: Mini square cards I cut some white cardstock into squares about 3″ x 3″ and then stamped a circle from my Brushstrokes stamp set into the centre using Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink Pad. I always prefer to use my Stamping Press so that I can stamp the image a few times for a perfect effect. Any solid background stamp will work for this Using my Stamping Press and Archival Ink Pad: Jet Black, I stamped the Funny Farm images over the Antique Linen Brushstrokes circlesI used my paper distressing tool to distress the edges of the cardstockAnd cut and folded some kraft cardstock to size (just slightly bigger than my white cardstock squares, so that they could border the images)I adhered the stamped images to the top of the kraft cardsAnd added some kraft twine and Tim Holtz Mini Paper Clips and Mini PinsSuper easy! And super cute! These little sets would make a great gift set tooSet 2: Coloured Kraft Tags This is probably my favourite set! I started off by cutting some tags from Kraft cardstock using my Thinlits Tag Die SetI stamped the Funny Farm images onto the tags using my Stamping Press and Archival Ink Pad: Jet BlackHow brilliant do these little fellas look?!? I coloured in the Funny Farm animals using my Derwent Watercolour Pencils. They work beautifully over the kraft cardstock and really make the images popThen I matted the tags onto some white cardstock for the contrast and added a white eyeletI did a little crazy sewing on randomly on each tag – luckily for me, I didn’t want a perfect stitch, because my sewing skills are something to be desired lol I just felt like the crazy, wild stitching finished the tags off. I absolutely adore this set! I think the contrast of the coloured images against the kraft tags is spectacular!Set 3: Postage Stamp Tags I cut some hot pressed watercolour paper into 2.5″ x 3.5″ rectangles and stamped the Funny Farm images onto each piece using my Stamping Press and Jet Black Archival Ink PadThen I used my absolute favourite… Winsor and Newton Watercolour Markers to colour the images inI cut some postage stamps from various coloured cardstock pieces I hadAnd adhered the coloured in images to the postage stamp piecesThen I added some coloured twineAnd Tim Holtz Index ClipsAnother really simple, effect set, to add to your stashSet 4: Card Toppers Once you get playing with this stamp set, you just don’t want to stop lol! I stamped the Funny Farm images onto some white hot pressed watercolour paper. This is normally my paper of choice as it accepts water nicely without warping and has a nice smooth surface for stamping. I chose to mask off the stamp sentiments for these toppers as I wanted to add different sentimentsThen I coloured in the images using my Winsor and Newton Watercolour MarkersAnd stamped some faux stitching around the card randomlyI matted the toppers onto some black cardstock for a great contrastAnd stamped on some other sentiments using Jet Black Archival Ink Pad, in the top left hand corner of the cardsI love the simplicity of these toppers. The Funny Farm animals are the only feature and they make it work!Stacked Card Topper From the minute I got this stamp set, I knew I wanted to stack these little guys! I used some magic tape to mask off the stamps and stamped the images on top of each other using Jet Black Archival Ink and my stamping pressI used my Winsor and Newton watercolour markers to colour in the imagesFor the background, I flooded the area with water first, then added the ink from my Winsor and Newton watercolour markersI had some die cut clouds left over from another project, so added those to the background, using my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion to line them upAnd matted the topper onto some white cardstockI warn you… these little guys are addictive! Once you get this stamp set out, you’re going to want to keep stamping! Happy crafting
