Who doesn’t love getting their ‘creep on’ with a little Halloween fun?! Here’s how I created this Dracula Card Topper…

I started off by stamping some of my favourite Halloween images onto hot pressed watercolour paper (I like to use hot pressed watercolour paper because it is smooth and accepts liquid beautifully without warping).
I used my Couture Creations Stamp Press to ensure I received a perfect impression and stamped the images using Jet Black Archival Ink

I used a circle die to cut a circle from a piece of Sticky Grid to create my mask.
Sticky Grid is really something you need for your stash! It is so useful!

I coloured a piece of Hot Pressed Watercolour Paper using my blending tool and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pad, Antique Linen

Then I placed my Sticky Grid circle on top of the inked background

And added some Hickory Smoke ink randomly using my blending tool

While the mask was still in place, I sprayed a little water to get the inks to react and create a more interesting background.
I dried this using my heat tool

I added some Distress Ink, Hickory Smoke to my non stick craft sheet by ‘smooshing’ the ink pad on the surface and added some water to create droplets of diluted ink

And I tapped my inked background into this mixture and dried using a heat tool

I removed the mask to reveal the clean moon image

Then I cut a circle from a piece of cardstock to mask off the area around the moon

And inked over the moon randomly using Hickory Smoke

This just gives the moon a little shading and helps it blend in with the night sky

I coloured in my stamped image using my all time favourite markers… Winsor and Newton Watercolour Markers.
I keep my markers in the Distress Crayon Tins – they fit perfectly in 2 tins!

Then I stamped the same image directly onto my inked background using my Stamp Press and Archival Ink Pad, Jet Black.
This was to position the image, but also to ensure that any areas I may not have been to fussy cut perfectly, would still appear

I also added some branches from another favourite Halloween stamp set: Mr Bones

I fussy cut Dracula using my Tim Holtz Snips

And used a spray adhesive to adhere him to the black stamped image on the inked background

Once Dracula is in position, add a little shadow using your watercolour markers to the ground under his feet

I die cut some bats from black cardstock

And adhered the bats to the background

‘Smoosh’ some ink from your ink pad directly to your media mat and spray with water and then run some Mummy Cloth through the ink to colour the cloth and dry using a heat tool

Tie the mummy cloth around the bottom of the card

And add a little pin, token and bone to finish off your card

I absolutely adore this little fella! Some spooky halloween fun
