Colorize: Celebrating with Theo

Theodore is one of my absolute favourite Colorize dies… he’s just brilliant! He dresses up really well too and looks good in alamost any accessory.
Here’s a REALLY simple Card Topper I made using Theo as the main event…

I always add adhesive to the back of my cardstock before I die cut the pieces. It makes assembling the Colorize sets really simple and saves the mess of glue.
You can iether use Sizzix Adhesive Sheets or your Xyron Sticker Machine.
Also, Sizzix has a step by step video for all the Colorize die sets. Following the video makes assembling these little fellas super simple!
As always, I like to make a few at a time. I also tried Theo out as a Panda bear – and he looks pretty great in black and white too!
The Crazy Things accessories work brilliantly with the Colorize dies – so give them a try!
Here I stamped some Hats and Balloons from the Crazy Things stamp set onto hot pressed watercolour paper using Jet Black Archival Ink and my stamp press
I coloured the images in using my Winsor and Newton Watercolour markers (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these markers for colouring!) and dried them using a heat tool
I die cut the coloured in images using the corresponding Sizzix die. This die has been discontinued, but the elements are easy enough to fussy cut by hand!
Then I flooded and area of my Hot Pressed watercolour paper with water and added some ink from my Winsor and Newton watercolour Markers to achieve a simple blended watercolour background effect
I added some Distress Ink, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade over my Ringer Stencil for a bolder effect. I still left the watercolour edges in tact and I love the way it turned out!
You can use any stencil design here
I matted the card topper onto a piece of lime green cardstock which edge it beautifully!
Using my mini Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion, I lined up the elements and stuck them into place
I added Theo using some double sided foam tape so he was more dimensional
I stamped a sentiment onto some watercolour paper and matted onto the same lime green cardstock
And added the sentiment to the bottom right hand corner of the card
Another really simple but effective Card Topper! I hope you get your Colorize dies out and get playing!
